Product Description

Smith's 6-inch fine/750 grit diamond bench stone is a quick-cutting, general-purpose sharpening stone that will be appreciated by woodworkers, culinary enthusiasts, hunters, fisherman and craftsmen alike. Monocrystalline diamond on a unique interrupted surface speeds abrasive action and stays clear and efficient during a long lifetime of use, and the unique Micro Tool Sharpening Pad even lets you sharpen very small cutting edges and knife points. It has oval-shaped holes so it doesn't fill up during sharpening. The stable 6 by 2-1/2-inch width stone is held on non-slip rubber feet that includes a snap-on clear storage lid.

Diamond stones like these are fast, always remain flat, are indestructible and require only water as a lubricant. For more than 100 years Smith's has been in the knife and tool sharpening business, and Smith prides itself on their industry reputation as The Edge Experts. Today Smith offers a full line of easy-to-use sharpeners from all five major sharpening categories: 100-percent natural Arkansas stones, diamonds, ceramics, bonded abrasives and carbides.

Excellent bench stone

This 6" x 2.5" stone is made well and the size easily handles a 2.5 inch No.7 Jointer plane iron. The coarse and fine should be enough to handle most of your sharpening needs for under 50 dollars total. I use water to lubricate the stone and it works flawlessly. The rubber feet on the stand make use easy whether I am in the house at my desk or at the bench in the workshop.
This makes it a lot easier to keep your knives sharp!

I'm fanatical about keeping my knives sharp, and with a sharpening stone that doesn't develop a "belly" with time, this thing is great. All you need is something to hone a freshly sharpened knife, and you're right as rain!

Remember to NEVER use water on this thing while sharpening; just clean the diamond surface of metal, and you're good to go.
Great sharpener for the kitchen.

I bought this at Lowes and it works great. Mainly used it for my kitchen knives and it took only seconds for it to sharpen. But next time I'll definitely check amazon.com prices first since it's alot cheaper!
indispensible

We purchased this this stone to replace a years old one that had simply worn out. We have good carbon steel knives that we keep sharp. This stone makes it easy.

Reviewer: Alan L. Norsworthy,
Purchased this as a gift but have one at home that I use. Best sharpener ever, safe spot to hold with thumb, much better for knifes than electric, just a few strokes and knife is sharp.
